Lutheridge x Jack Birthday

Last August I had the opportunity to share my birthday with Camp Lutheridge. I celebrated my 25th birthday while Lutheridge celebrated its 75th. I, anticipating a fun time, reached out to everyone I could to try to make it a reunion of all my favorite people at my favorite place. My Triangle buddy Tyler got to come + my friend Ashton was able to fly in all the way from Hawaii for it and we all drove up together. I even got my brother and my Mom to come back to camp which especially for her was a long time coming. It meant so much that they came even if it was originally only due to my nagging.

While it didn’t turn out quite like I expected Ashton and I also got to design some shirts for the 75th. My favorite was the Lutheridge Songbook shirt which felt like it was meant to be the moment I put it on a shirt and I got to wear it at the Lakeside Cross for opening worship!

I worked 3 summers at Lutheridge - 2019, 2021, 2022. At the very end of the 2021 summer we had to end our week a couple days early due to only COVID scare we had the whole summer but it meant that all the closure to that year was skipped over due to that and other… reasons. This event made me realize how I hadn’t really gotten a chance to process that summer and seeing Lori and Chandler back on site working together with Pastor Tim and Pastor Mary from my first summer in 2019 and Pastor Drew and Pastor Sara from my last in 2022 was more special than I could’ve ever expected.

After the wonderful weekend I got to celebrate my “Prefrontal Cortex Development Quarter Century Party” with all my friends in Raleigh which meant a lot and left me with multiple cakes from what I remember. Cheers to a wonderful time all around!
